  Why do you need to know  something about the EU?   It is important to recognize the rights and opportunities that all citizens have inside the EU.  Also noticing  the  work EU  is doing  to push for human rights.   The principle of equality between  all people  underpins all European policies and is the basis for European integration.   Human rights are protected by the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights. SUMMARY of 19.03.2021 lecture

  SUMMARY  -Another turning point came. 09.11. After this, the main target of nato was to prevent terrorism.  NATO was created to prevent the soviet union from expanding its territories even more.  -Shared values, ideas, constitutions, and in general the feeling of feeling together. The EU is deeply integrated into our societies, so there is a European community. It is a union. -The alliance is maintained by overcoming the crisis. -Brexit may discourage other countries from leaving the EU. However, if countries are smart enough they will know that leaving the EU would be far worse than staying. This is the particular reason for this circumstance the EU as trade connections that makes the lives of these countries better. -There are repros and cons to other countries joining the EU. -Anything is possible in international relations.  European Parliament visit: The visit by Ville Niinistö was very exicting. Our team originally thought that the topics going to be covered were going to be enigmatic to understand, however it was quite simple it follow. Although there was a prolific amount of knowledge shared with us, our team found it most notable to talk about the work of the European Parliament and the work of an MEP.  We learned about the responsibility and work ethic it takes to be an MEP through Ville's monologue. Ville accentuated the fun of being an MEP but also mentioned the consequences. He said that MEP's pre-covid felt quite frazzled with the amount of travelling they had to do. Even though the experiences of going to different countries is thrilling, it is usally met by hour long meetings. Ville also stated that as an MEP, it is quite important to have your works recognized by other MEP's and this usaully is a quite tedious process.  In addition, we also learned about the work the European Pa...

Stock Market Ambassadors

 We had the chance to follow and participate in a lecture hosted by ambassadors from the Finnish Pörssisäätiö. The lecture covered the topic of personal finance. Most of the material was already quite clear to our group but the presentation solidified it all into an easy-to-understand package. The main points we took away were the need to start saving and investing from a young age and to not be afraid of the stock market as it's quite easy to comprehend. The only negative part was the Kahoot which was very difficult to play for non-Finnish speakers.
